The Ringgold Senior Girls’ Tea was held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Monongahela Valley Country Club. Eighty-four seniors, sponsor Natalie Hess, and speaker Erin Sinko participated in the event.
Members of the Woman’s Club Education/Fine Arts/Senior Girls Tea committee who assisted in seating and registration were Rosemary Bucchianeri, Ann D’Emidio, Vicki Sento, Twila Ramsden and Marsha Vitale.
Musical selections were performed as the young ladies arrived and through lunch by student Harpists Madelyn Koontz and Anna Vogt. Chairperson Colleen Arnowitz welcomed all of the guests and reminded them that even though they were individually different, as women they are leaders, fixers, and givers for their families and that they should be proud of the accomplishment that high school graduation represents.
Tea and coffee was served by members Carol Hoffman, DeAnne Pesognelli, Kathleen DeSantis, and Joan Weis. The speaker for the afternoon was Erin K. Sinko, who is the Concierge Manager for Monongahela Valley Hospital. She recounted some of her experiences while assisting patients, staff members, and visitors. She gave each of the students a puzzle piece and asked them to use that puzzle piece to remember their experiences at the tea as well as the experiences that had brought them to this point in their lives. Erin suggested that they view this as a reminder that each piece of life or experience is part of a larger puzzle that helps to shape an individual. She encouraged the students to move forward with purpose and to have faith in themselves and in God as they work toward success.
In closing, Colleen Arnowitz thanked President Diana Stillwagon and the members of the Education Committee for their assistance, Natalie Hess for printing and distributing the invitations, Erin Sinko for an inspiring speech, Madelyn Koontz and Anna Vogt for their musical selections, Vic Vitale and the office staff at the Country Club, and Patsy Lenart and her staff for the lovely tea buffet. Halea Kohl, Senior Class President, thanked Mrs. Arnowitz and the members of the Woman’s Club for hosting the tea.
