The Monessen Amphitheater Committee will feature several events during the months of July and August.

On July 3, 2016, the Amphitheater Committee will have “Rock The Amphitheater” – a battle of the bands competition. Five local bands will compete for a $150 prize as well as a profile story and the chance to record a professional single at a local recording studio. The bands to perform are: The Vics, of California, PA; Soulios, of California, PA; Arctic Glass, of Connellsville, PA; Brahtopus, of Pittsburgh, PA; and Shadow of Corvus, of Clarion, PA. The event is sponsored by the Laurel Highlands Visitorʼs Bureau and Rhythm House Studios of Charleroi. Food will be available for purchase.

On July 17, 2016, the committee will host “Summer in the Park,” featuring Nashville artists Steel Blossoms, as well as Pittsburgh duo Scott and Rosanna. Vendors, food, and crafters will be on hand at the event. Froggy Radio will do a live broadcast. This event is also sponsored by the Laurel Highlands Visitorʼs Bureau.

On August 21, 2016, local polka band Mon Valley Push will perform for “Polkas in the Park.” Food will be available for purchase. Dancing is encouraged!

All events begin at 2 p.m. at the Monessen City Park Amphitheater. These events are free to the public.
