The West Newton Lions Club will be hosting a rabies clinic for cats and dogs on Sunday, May 7 from 12- 2 p.m. Cost is $12. It is a three-year vaccine.

The Peters Creek Historical Society will celebrate milestones of their own in an anniversary celebration of the founding of the society and in the significance of their headquarters, the historic Enoch Wright House, located in the village of Venetia, Peters Township, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Matthew Campbell of Washington, PA is the guest speaker for the May 22nd meeting of the Peters Creek Historical Society. His subject is the Carnegie Hero Fund, a private, non-profit commission whose focus is to honor and to award the Carnegie Medal to those individuals in the United States and Canada who risked their lives to an extraordinary degree to save others.
