New Eagle Borough Council announced plans at the January 2 monthly meeting to update welcome signs in the borough.

The replacement signs will be purchased from The Sign Guy and will include the welcome signs at Route 837 as you enter the borough and at the entrance into New Eagle from Monongahela, and a new borough building sign.

The signs will be made and installed at a cost of $8,140, under the borough’s $10,000 budget for the project. Solar lights may also be installed.

In other business, residents are reminded of the borough’s snow removal ordinance, which indicates snow on sidewalks must be removed within 24 hours after the last snowfall.
