A Carroll Township resident began the public forum at the October 1 monthly Supervisors Meeting by inquiring about the improvement of Hampton Road in front of her residence, which she would like to be re-surfaced.
The road is not owned by the township and the resident was asked to present a survey and deed to her property to examine the right-of-way access to her property.
The resident also inquired about the township ordinance that does not allow farm animals, asking the board to consider changing the ordinance to include chickens. Another resident at the meeting contributed to the discussion by describing his experience with a neighbor that kept many chickens and that became an unsanitary situation that included rodents infesting the area. The Supervisors stated that the ordinance says, “No Chickens,” and they will enforce the ordinance.
In other business:
- The Carroll Township Police Department hired Robert L. Cunningham II and Brandon Heinzelman as two part-time police officers, effective October 1.
- Residents are reminded that the township will collect leaves during the month of November.
- Residents are reminded that Waste Management collects items such as paints, TVs, and other electronics. Contact the trash collector to schedule a time for them to collect the items.
