Plans for renovations and additions to the public works building were revealed at the August 17 meeting of the Nottingham Board of Supervisors. Along with remodeling, plans call for building a salt barn and cold storage area at the Municipal Complex at 909 Sugar Run Road.

Supervisor and Public Works Director Doug King said that the township has received proposals for the design services work from Santec Architecture and Engineering LLC for $56,450 and from Ken Dulac Design Associates LLC for $85,000. He said that the totals reflect all the work involved from start to finish.

King also said that the contracts for the project need to be reworded and then given to Township Solicitor James Liekar for review before formally approved the board.

In other business, the supervisors:

Acknowledged receipt of an invitation for Nottingham officials to attend a town meeting sponsored by the Monongahela Area Redevelopment Authority on September 24 at 7 p.m. at the Monongahela Fire Department Social Hall. Speaking will be State Sen. Camera Bartollota, State Rep. Pete Daley and Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi. The topic of discussion will be “Utilizing Our Resources to Improve Our Local Economy.”
Announced that the proposed Peddling and Soliciting Ordinance will be considered for adoption at the regular Board of Supervisors meeting on September 21.
Acknowledged receipt of correspondence from the state DEP to Sunoco Pipeline, L.P. informing them that the application for their Pennsylvania pipeline project (part of which is proposed to go through Nottingham) has been determined to be incomplete and/or technically inadequate.
Acknowledged receipt of notifications from the following companies of their intent to drill for Marcellus Shale natural gas in nearby municipalities: EQT at the Werner site in Carroll Township; Rice Energy at the Papa Bear IV and Master Splinter IV sites in Somerset Township: and Range Resources at the Martin Edward sites in North Strabane Township.
Verified receipt of a system connection form from the Washington County Sewage Authority for Kathy Morrison, 522 Sugar Run Road.
