The one-of-a-kind Monessen Epiphany of our Lord Festival was recently held on August 5 and 6, 2017.

Epiphany1
(From L to R) Rev. Michael Crookston of Epiphany Church, enjoys the festival with parishioner Carlyn Belczyk, and Betty Geis, inside food coordinator.

Featured favorites at the Epiphany Festival are the homemade ethnic foods, indoor and outdoor foods, including: kielbasa, pierogis, fried dough, and pizza. The Chinese Auction was also popular with attendees. A new attraction this year was the 'Escape Luau Room' planned by Tara Manderino, church secretary. Participants in the Escape Room had to figure out a series of puzzles to find their way out of the room. Manderino said the decorating committee of Rita Lucas and Mary Dzurik were awesome.

Live bands entertained guests on both days with 'Street Level Band' performing on Saturday and 'Ray Jay and the Carousels' performed polka music on Sunday. The live music concluded on Sunday night with a performance by '2 Broke Girl Country Girls'. Pittsburgh Penguins mascot 'Iceburgh' was also in attendance.

Event Chairman Robert Sassak said, “It was a lot of work. A lot of people contributed. It is a good event to bring people together.” A tradition for about 26 years since the churches merged, this event will continue to show attendees a good time for years to come.
