On Friday, June 2, the Elizabeth Forward Middle School 8th grade students, staff, and chaperones departed around 9 a.m. on Metro Tour Buses, bound for the Big Apple for the weekend.

The school has been doing this tradition for 30+ years and this year was no different.
Arriving in New York City around 7 p.m. that evening, they went to Times Square for shopping before checking into their hotel in New Jersey at 10 p.m. Their trip was not only educational but packed full of fun and interesting things to keep the students busy. The activities included a trip to the St. Patrick's Cathedral, a concert with the Blue Man Group, and visits to the Top Of The Rock building, Trump Tower, Freedom Tower, the statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Little Italy, Chinatown, and more.
With two tour buses and about 150 people in attendance, everyone gathered on the buses to come home on Sunday, June 4 and arrived back at the school around midnight. Mrs. Stanich, the assistant principal at the school, says they will continue the annual tradition of taking the 8th graders to New York as a middle school graduation opportunity.
