School News

Congratulations to Patrick Weldon, a 5th grader at St. Thomas More Catholic School in Bethel Park, for winning the 2018 Pittsburgh Diocesan Spelling Bee, held at St. Louise de Marillac School on May 16.

Through over 2 ½ hours of spelling, Patrick outlasted spelling champs from 40 other Catholic elementary schools in the Pittsburgh region. Patrick qualified for the competition by winning his school Bee in March. He was coached by Mr. Pat Healy, a Spanish teacher at St. Thomas More and the sponsor of the STM spelling bee.
