It's award time at Elizabeth Forward High School and, wow, what an amazing bunch of students they are!

Penn State Award writer Mayim Smith

Mayim Smith, a junior, won the Penn State Award. Only six juniors were given an opportunity for a winning spot. The contest looks for the most talented student writers from all across the state of Pennsylvania and scored by Penn State professors. Mayim said, "Writing has always been a passion of mine, especially when I'm given the opportunity to write about topics that are important to me!" She will be moving forward in the competition.

The Warrior Pride Award was created to recognize creative students with the ability to inspire other students to use their skills and imagination to produce innovations and ideas to better the school and themselves. Creativity is a major trait encouraged at Elizabeth Forward, and the following 12th graders each received the Warrior Pride Award:

Mattie Winowitch turned the simple school newspaper into an advanced, modern, and insightful magazine.Tyler Wachs made flag holders for the hallways of the high school so that no student would miss the Pledge of Allegiance.Adam Ignasky has done numerous things to help the school and his education as well as David Michaliszyn.

The students that attend Steel Center Technical School were not forgotten. The following students received the Technical Excellence Award:

Steel Center Technical School also gave out the Extra Effort Awards. These awards are for outstanding attitude, work ethic, attendance, and dependability. The following students each received the Extra Efford Award:
