School News

Erica Bednarczyk and Rachel N. Wilkinson are the recipients of the 2015 Mon Valley Community Federal Credit Union Volunteers’ Memorial Scholarship.

Erica, a 2015 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School, is the daughter of Paul and Mary L. Bednarczyk of Fayette City. She has enrolled at California University of PA to study middle-level education, focusing in science. Erica has been active in varying activities, from baton twirling to church youth group, and has been a member of several honor societies.

Rachel Wilkinson, valedictorian of California Area High School’s class of 2015, is the daughter of Thomas J. and Sherry A. Wilkinson of Roscoe. Rachel is studying the curriculum needed to earn a doctorate of physical therapy. She is attending Slippery Rock University and aspires to become a pediatric physical therapist.

The scholarships are valued at $2,000 and awarded annually to high school graduates who are credit union members. Local clergy act as judges.
