School News

At the beginning of the school year, students in grades 2-5 were given an accelerated reader goal based on their independent reading level. Each student's reading level is determined by the star reading test.

Pictured with students are Elementary Literacy Leader Lisa Bellon and Elementary Librarian Rebecca Pecora.

They have all year to work towards their goal by reading books and testing on these books. These students were the first to reach their goal and will be attending the end-of-year celebration, along with being recognized at an awards ceremony.

Mary Janetka, fourth grader, was our "Super Reader" of the year with 928.3 points. She was also our first member of the Millionaire's Club, reading 5,379,845 words this year. Congratulations to all of these students for doing an excellent job reading!
