Seniors

West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E. Main St. in West Newton, can be reached at 724-872-4976. The center is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Call and receive our monthly shout out by email, then decide what days you would join us for lunch. Lunch reservations are due one week before each Tuesday for a $2 donation for those over age 60 and a $3.33 for those under 60.

The center has a full beauty shop; call for an appointment. We offer daily card playing, scat, euchre, poker, pool, Wii bowling, bingo, and speakers. Each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., we offer 20 games of nickel-a-card bingo with a treat following the games.

Once a month gambling trips will commence again in January, as will our Coffee and Canvas painting classes.

  • December 4 – Seniors for Safe Driving course at 5 p.m. Call to make your reservation.
  • December 5 - Speaker from Blackburn Center, 12:30 p.m.
  • December 11 - Sutersville Bingo, 1 p.m.
  • December 18 - Ceramic class - make your reservation to paint a tree ornament, 12:30 p.m.
  • December 19 - Christmas Party, 10 a.m., with Cathy Rhodes as entertainment.
  • December 22 - Oldies Dance, 12:30 p.m.
  • December 26 - Grocery Bingo, 1 p.m.
