Seniors

West Newton Center for Active Adults, located at 103 E. Main St., West Newton, is open daily Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lunch is at noon for a $2 donation (over age 60) or a $3.33 donation (60 and under), and reservations for lunch must be made one week in advance. There is a full beauty shop on premises Wednesday – Friday. Call and ask for Judy. Daily card playing, pool, Wii bowling, and Tuesday 9:30 a.m. Bible study are some of our events. Each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. there are 20 games of nickel a card bingo.

June 5 – Farmers’ Market Vouchers, 9 – 11 a.m.

June 6 – Judy from Amedisys with discussion on congestive heart failure.

June 16 – Celebrate Fresh Veggie Day – get recipes and nutritional information, 1 p.m. Tai Chi demonstration to follow.

June 21 - Painting session from 6 – 8 p.m. Cost is $30. Phone for details and ask for Lisa or Jody.

June 25 – Party to celebrate end of the 30 day challenge with lunch and a show; phone for details. Triple creek band.

June 29 – Jason from United Health Care guest lectures with insurance information.

 Bus Trips

Cleveland Casino Bus Trip - Jacks Casino of Cleveland, June 20. $40 with $25 in free play. This is in Tower City Center Shopping Mall, and you can either join us and shop and eat, or gamble. Akron, Ohio Bus Trip - September 15. Departs West Newton at 6:30 a.m. Cuyahoga Train Ride from Ravena to Pensulia, lunch and shopping at Hudson Ohio, return by bus to Akron for Stan Hewitt Nooks and Crannies tour. $104.  Casino Bus Trip – Rocky Gap in Cumberland, Maryland. Golfing: $65, gambling: $30 with $20 free play.

Train Trips

Amtrak Train Trip to Altoona - June 27. Shop at Boyer's and Bretzel's and continue on to Johnstown to eat at the Senior Center for lunch. Visit the Johnstown Flood Museum and Flight 93 Memorial and have dinner at Oakhurst. $100.
