Seniors

The West Newton Center for Active Adults located at 103 E. Main St., West Newton, is an adult community center open daily Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Lunch is served at 12:00 noon for a $2 donation (age 60+) or a $3.33 charge (under age 60). Reservations for lunch must be made by Wednesday of the previous week. Judy, our beautician, has a full beauty shop on the premises. Call 724-872-4976 and ask for Judy to make a hair appointment (every Thursday and Friday; occasionally on Wednesday).

Daily activities include card playing, billiards, wii Sports, socialization, oldies music and more! Weekly activities include Tuesday Bible study at 9:30 am, Donut Day at 10:00am, Progressive Jackpot Bingo at 11:00am. Wednesday - Craft hour at 10:00am, 20 games of ‘nickel-a-card’ Bingo at 12:30pm. Fri. June 21 – Presque Isle Downs & Casino –Departing Bible Alliance Church Parking Lot at 8:30am and Belle Vernon Park and Ride (Rt 201) at 8:45am. Arriving at the Casino around 11:00am and departing for home at 5:00pm. Casino guest cost is $45 (you receive $30 in free play). Limited Seating. Call 724-872-4976 for availability!

Wed. July 24 –‘It’sin The Bag’ Holmes County Ohio Amish Adventure – Grab Bag Tour – Departing Bible Alliance Church Parking Lot at 7:00am and the Belle Vernon Park and Ride (Rt 201) at 7:15am. The expedition begins with a one-hour wagon ride through a 120-acre farm. From there we will tour an Amish Household. We will enjoy a family-style feast at Der Dutchman and walk it all off while visiting the many shops of Walnut Creek. We will indulge in sample confections at Coblentz Chocolatesand cool down with some shopping and ice cream at Walnut Creek Cheese. The cost is $115 per person.
