Whether you're looking to save money on your car insurance premiums or just need to brush up on your driving skills, AAA East Central's Mature Driver classes can help. In each class, experienced AAA safety advisors focus on helping older drivers stay on the road longer and safely. Mature driver classes cover such topics as recognizing vision changes, communicating with other drivers, adjusting speed, handling emergencies and understanding driving laws.

To qualify for Pennsylvania's auto insurance discount, first-time students are required to take 8 hours of classroom instruction, divided into two 4-hour sessions. After that, students can renew their insurance discount every three years with a one-day, 4-hour refresher course.

Classes are held at the South Hills AAA office, 160 Ft. Couch Rd., Upper St. Clair. Classes run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

· August 14: renewal class

· August 27-28: first-time class

· September 12: renewal class

· October 16: renewal class

· December 9: renewal class

Courses are $18 for AAA members; $25 for nonmembers. To enroll, call 412-365-7211
