YCC Women Golfers Celebrate “Kilts in Karts”

The wet weather failed to dampen the Scottish spirits of The Youghiogheny Country Club 18 Hole Women’s Golf Association who hosted a Scottish themed “Kilts in Karts” for the ladies’ recent guest day.

Betty Lee Hancsak, Jane Marino, Vickie McDevitt, Penny Natale, and Diane Riley assisted Committee Chairlady Lynn McHolme in planning and decorating for the event.

Following a continental “Scottish” breakfast, foursomes played one best ball on part 5's, two best balls on the par 4's, and three best balls on par 3’s. A traveling bagpiper entertained the ladies on the course.

Après golf, the ladies feasted on a Scottish menu complete with fried fish and meat pie, salad and dessert. The ballroom stage and tables were decorated with traditional Scottish foliage, thistle and sand. A Putter Buddy to keep club handles dry served as the perfect favor for the golfers.

Winners of the events are as follows:
1st place score of 112 – Joanne McHolme, Kathy Bellino, Serena Gozion and Marian Keyes

2nd place score of 115 – Maureen Fiore, Kathy Bartony, Laura Leete and Joan Livingston

3rd place score of 117 in a scorecard play-off – Teresa Garella, Debbie Garella, Cindy Polora and Karen Culley.
