Ringgold graduate Moriah Mathies spent the summer working as a student nurse intern at Monongahela Valley Hospital's 7-E wing, which primarily cares for cancer patients. Miss Mathies returned to Muskingum University in Ohio to finish her senior year and encouraged her soccer team to raise funds for MVH's Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center this past fall.

CONSOL Energy donated $10,000 to Monongahela Valley Hospital's Focus on the Future Capital Campaign. Pictured are Jim Grech, CONSOL's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, with Sara Schumacher, Monongahela Valley Hospital's vice president of fund development. Schumacher said that CONSOL has been "a great champion of the hospital and our fundraising efforts," and thanked Jim Grech for his "continued dedication to our community and our patients as well as the entire CONSOL Energy team."

She is a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and spent the first 14 years of her registered nursing career as a child/adolescent psychiatric nurse at St. Francis Medical Center and The Bradley Center — both in Pittsburgh.
