There are only two major businesses in Liberty Boro, a gas station and Jo-Lynn’s Pizzaria. On Saturday June 26, a tragic fire broke out at 9:30am at Jo-Lynn's Pizzaria. The cause of the fire was a fan in the attic.

Monessen Communities That Care (CTC) will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a full afternoon of music, activities and light refreshments on Sat., July 24, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Monessen City Park. Included in the activities will be local bands and performances, a photography contest, a petting zoo, pony rides, a scavenger hunt, relay races and games, face painting, and balloon animals.
