Library News

Donora Public Library recently announced the July 2016 Events.

We will be CLOSED Monday, July 4. All programs are free to the public. Board Meeting: Wednesday, July 6, 2016 @ 6 p.m.

PARENTS ARE US GROUP:
Every Tuesday @ 5:30 p.m. We are still looking for moms and dads that would like to get away for some adult conversation and tips on parenting.
Bridge Club: Thursdays, July 14 and July 28 @ 3:30 p.m.
Knit and Crochet Group: Thursdays, July 14 and July 28 @ 5:30 p.m.
Book Club: Thursday, July 21st @ 3:30 p.m.
Story Time with Miss Angie and/or Miss Chantal: Every Friday at 11 a.m.
LEGO Club: Saturday, July 9 @ 1:30 p.m. For ages 6 and up. Due to low attendance we will not be having two Lego Club meetings a month until the fall.
Wee Build Club: Saturday, July 16th @ 1 p.m. For ages 0 to 5.

Community Garden: It’s not too late to plant and plots are still available!

Employment and Application Assistance:
Mr. Mike Enwright is still accepting appointments to assist anyone over the age of 18 with filling out applications and then walking them through the interviewing process. We are very happy to announce that Mr. Enwright has now helped two very happy people obtain employment. Appointments are available Monday - Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you would like to schedule an appointment, contact Angela at the library.

Sunday, July 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Mrs. Adela Damiani Costanza will be signing copies of her newest book, “Seeing through the Smog…Clearly!”. Mrs. Costanza is a Donora native who has written about her life and time growing up in Donora during the years of the Depression and also the tragic smog disaster that almost took Donora off the map. Stop by and pick up your signed copy and a few good tales by Mrs. Costanza.

NEEDED:We are gearing up to hold our next flea market and book sale scheduled for September. If you still have unwanted or unused household goods or books, we would love to take them off your hands.
