Food Drive Success

The staff and trustees of Monongahela Area Library would like to personally thank Eastman Chemical Monongahela Plant as well as all the fabulous patrons who donated to the Washington County Farm Bureau’s Food Drive that benefited the Washington County Food Bank. Because of your kindness and generosity, our library won first place in the contest between libraries for number of pounds collected. Happily, everything collected comes right back to the families in our own community who are in need of a little help when they fall on hard times.

St. Damien of Molokai Fundraiser

St. Damien of Molokai Church’s Teen group will be holding a fundraiser during their July Summer Fest, July 15th - July 17th on behalf of Monongahela Area Library. The Madonna Catholic School regularly uses Monongahela Area Library as their school library so this is their way of giving back. If you or your children have attended Madonna Catholic School, this is one way you can support your local library.

Foster Grandparents

The foster grandparents will be meeting at Monongahela Area Library on Friday, July 15th from 11a.m. - 4 p.m. The foster grandparent volunteers help children develop academic and life skills critical to future success. Volunteers support children in: Head Start and preschool programs, kindergarten through 12th grade, and before and after school programs. Become a foster grandparent! It is most rewarding!
