The Pleasant Hills Public Library made the following announcements for March.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS: Saturday, March 4 at 12 p.m. Join us for an awesome finale celebration of Read Across American Week with a special birthday party for Dr. Seuss. Enjoy games, crafts, snacks, and other fun activities from 12 – 1:30 p.m. with stories read by special guest readers from 1:30 – 2 p.m. Family program. WHICH WAS BETTER: BOOK VS. MOVIE FAMILY BOOK CLUB: Monday, March 27 at 6 p.m. Come be a part of our exciting new book club. Before our meeting, read ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl as a family. We’ll talk about the book and then we’ll watch the movie while snacking on popcorn and punch. After the movie we’ll decide which we liked better. Extra copies of each month’s title will be available for checkout at the circulation desk. Recommended for families with children ages 5 and up. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY ANNUAL USED BOOK SALE: Thursday – Sunday, March 30 – April 2 at the Pleasant Hills Borough Building, located at 410 E. Bruceton Road. Thursday, March 30 is Preview Night from 6 – 8 pm. For an entrance fee of $6 you can enjoy refreshments and get a first look at all the amazing items. Friday, March 31 the sale is open from 10 am until 8 pm. Make sure to visit from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. to do a craft with Miss Dani. Saturday, April 1 the sale is open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, April 2 is our clearance sale from 12 – 3 p.m. Fill one of our boxes for $6, or one of our small plastic bags for $3. Unwind with the Knitting and Crocheting "Happy" Hour Club
Learn basic knitting and crocheting skills or come and work on your current project with likeminded friends. We will be meeting on Wednesdays, March 8 and 22 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are new to the craft and need guidance on what to purchase to get your started you can get a supply list from the front desk at the Library.

Start your Summer Garden NOW! Meder's Home & Garden Showplace is coming to the Library give us an informational presentation on how you can start your summer garden from seeds inside your house now. The presentation will take place on Monday, March 13 at 7 p.m. Visit our website as we get closer to the date for all of the details.
