 Adult Programs

Conversation Salon meets Friday April 1, from 1 to 3 p.m.  The group discusses topics of interest on a variety of subjects and welcomes newcomers with opinions and open minds. Refreshments served.

The Murder and Mayhem Murder Mystery Book Club meets Monday, April 4 at 1 p.m. to discuss No Rest for the Dead by 26 authors.   Newcomers welcome.  Killer desserts served.  Books available at the front desk.

Tai Chi classes begin Wednesday, April 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for 8 weeks. Suitable for beginners and experienced students. Class taught by Judy Crow.  $50 fee payable at the first class.   Registration requested.

The Library is offering How to Write and Publish a Short Story beginning Thursday April 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. taught by Sheldon Higdon.  The 8-week program will focus on the craft of the short story.   Students will write an original 2,500 word short story, and be ready to submit their polished stories for possible publication by the end of the session.

The 10-week Spring Wise Walk program begins Wednesday, April 13 at 9 a.m. with a short information meeting in the Library followed by walking at South Park.  For the remaining nine weeks participants will meet in the Children’s Playground parking lot in South Park at 9:30 a.m. and walk along Corrigan Dr.  Registration requested.

Children, Teen, and Family Programs

Preschool Storytime: Tuesdays through April 26 at 10:30 am and 1:30 p.m. Explore different themes through stories, songs, crafts, and a snack. For children ages 3 ½ to 6 years old, with or without a caregiver. No registration necessary.

 PJ Family Story Time – Laugh Out Loud:  Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. Laugh out loud with Miss Terry while we share stories, sing songs, play games, make crafts, and enjoy a delicious snack. Wear your PJs and bring a stuffed friend to join in the fun. Family program. Please register by calling 412-655-2424 or emailing riesent2@einetwork.net

Evening Baby Book Nook: Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Join Miss Terry on the first Tuesday of every month in the evening for nursery and action rhymes, songs, books, and so much more. For children ages birth to 2 years old, with a caregiver. No registration necessary.

Tail Wagging Tutors: Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. The dogs are back at the library. Trained therapy dogs will be here hoping to hear a story or two. Practice your reading skills while enjoying the company of some furry friends. For children ages 4 and up — reading ability encouraged but not required. Craft Closet Clean Out: Saturday, April 23 at 12:30 p.m. Stop by the library anytime between 12:30—3:30 p.m. and let your imagination run wild as you make a fun craft or two from our surplus supplies. We have tons of odds and ends you can use to make your very own unique creations.  Family program. No registration necessary.
