Marilyn Monroe once said, "If you give a girl the right pair of shoes, she can conquer the world." Dalaney Johnson of Monessen is on fire this year!

She is headed to Atlanta to represent Pennsylvania in the 2016 International Sunburst Model Search where she will be going for the International title of Teen Miss Sunburst. Dalaney is also the reigning 2016 Miss Pennsylvania Perfect Jr. Teen and will be representing Pennsylvania this August in Orlando as she competes with young girls from all over the United States and abroad for the title of 2016-17 World's Perfect Jr. Teen.

Laney's platform is "Young ladies, Empower them." She feels that we as a community need to start letting our young girls know, from a very young age, that they have the ability to conquer all of their hopes and dreams regardless of the obstacles that stand before them. If we as a community believe in them, they will believe in themselves. Dalaney has a young group of girls that she mentors and teaches how to walk and talk with confidence by leading by example. She is there for advice and guidance and more importantly, just to be a friend. She is not only their mentor, but their dance teacher as well. She is on the staff at Attitudes in Motion Dance Studio and is a key choreographer for their competitive dance team. Laney's students and dance partners have won numerous awards and titles as well.

Dalaney is the 15-year-old daughter of Bernard and Lisa Johnson. She has two brothers, Daunte' and Damani Johnson. She is an honor student of Greensburg Central Catholic High School. She is a varsity cheerleader as well as a member of the varsity basketball and track teams. She, along with her family, are active members of Calvin United Presbyterian Church of Brownsville.
