This top rank of the Boy Scouts is only earned by approximately 4% of all Boy Scouts nationally, and it is rare for one troop to have eight new Eagles recognized at one Eagle Court. Many friends and families were in attendance to recognize the accomplishments of the eight new Eagles.

Listed below are the names of each new Eagle Scout and which community institution benefited from his ‘Eagle Project.’

Attending and speaking at the ceremony, representing the Elks were Bonnie Filyo, Exalted Ruler and Eugene Eckman, Leading Knight, from the local BPOE Lodge 2213, located in Bethel Park. They both gave a short talk and presented the new Eagles with two framed certificates of merit, a personal letter from the Grand Exalted Ruler in the Grand Lodge in Chicago, a small silk American Flag and a gold lapel pin which represents the 80+ year relationship between the two organizations.

Troop 1393 was established in 1983 by current Scoutmaster Eric Rauscher. Troop 1393 has produced 67 Eagle Scouts during this 25 year period. Scoutmaster Rauscher announced that this would be the last Eagle Court for both him and Troop 1393, as Troop 1393 is joining the rapidly growing new Trail- Life U.S.A. organization.
