Rostraver Twp. Historical Society will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Old Fells Methodist Church located at 800 Fellsburg Road, Belle Vernon, PA.

The business meeting will start promptly at 6 p.m. The program, starting at 7 p.m., will be presented by Edward Falvo of the Elizabeth Historical Society. Edward will be speaking as a doctor with the Lewis and Clark expedition authorized by President Thomas Jefferson from 1804 to 1806. Edward will display all of the medical instruments of that time period.

RTHS unlocks the doors to the Restored 1834 Concord School for visitors to view the educational criteria for students built by the local Methodist as a conscription school from the late 1830s to 1900s. The public is invited to come from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays. The building is located on Municipal Drive on your way to Cedar Creek Park.

RTHS is a collector of aluminum cans to support their many projects.

Please support the Rostraver History by participating in the programs of local history. For questions or for more information, please call 724-823-0351.
