Monongahela Resident Brings Cookie Tables for Squirrel Hill First Responders

On November 3, Laura Magone of Monongahela, Founder of ‘The Wedding Cookie Table Community’, and her merry band of bakers set up a traditional Pittsburgh Cookie Table at the Zone 4 Police Station in Squirrel Hill

to show support for all those who responded to the recent tragedy at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Trays of cookies were sent to the surrounding police stations, EMTs, firemen and one special tray went to the SWAT officers who was still hospitalized.

Originally organized to preserve the ethnic and cultural traditions of wedding cookie tables, the Community believes the comfort of home-baked cookies is also a way to assist those in need of a little kindness. The ‘Thank You’ sign was donated by Delmar Signs also of Monongahela.
