Free Concerts to Be Held in Monongahela and Donora

The Mon Valley Academy for the Arts, an Arts and Cultural 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization, is very pleased to announce that, for the third consecutive year, the EQT Foundation has sponsored the 2019 EQT/MVAA Summer Concert Series.

The Summer Concert Series will be held at two different locations in 2019. Chess Park in Monongahela and Palmer Park in Donora, Pa. and are Free and open to the public.

On Sunday June 9, the MVAA will kick off the 2019 Concert Season at Chess Park, Monongahela. The Gazebo concert will begin at 1:45 and conclude at 4:00. Sage Sneith will open the concert with the National Anthem followed by the local guitar duo - Keith Wilson and Scotty Spahr. The headliner band will be the favorite classic rock act “Black Dog Hollow” Band.

On Sunday June 23, will be the first of a series of events held at Palmer Park, Donora. The new local duo of “Lex and Tess” will open the concert at 1:45 then feature the always in demand “Andy Gregg Band” playing all the classic country hits and featuring original material until 4:00 PM.

Between June 2019 and September 2019, eight (8) outdoor concerts will be presented FREE to the public featuring local and professional artists of varied genres.
