The West Newton Center for Active Adults will be holding a variety of events and activities throughout August. They hold weekday lunches, craft classes, exercise classes, Bingo and more. A few of the exciting activities and events for August are listed below:
Pumpkin Painting
Friday, August 9 at 12:30PM. We will be painting a wooden stacked pumpkin with a base of leaves for only $5. Class size is limited to the amount of wooden pumpkins that we have, so sign up in advance to ensure your place!!
Dine & Dance with Mikey Dee
Monday, Aug 12 for lunch (donations made at the center) and a free dance music hour with Mikey Dee. Enjoy polka, waltz and more! Lunch includes, Pot Roast w/gravy, Whipped Potatoes, Coin Carrots, Bread, Peach Crisp. Standard lunch rates apply. Tickets are free; however, show reservations are required by Aug. 7. CASH BASH
Friday August 30 - join us for fun and games, as the Center hosts a CASH BASH from 11:30AM - 2:30PM. Chances to win money every fifteen minutes! Tickets can be purchased in advance until sold-out. Four 3-digit numbers on every ticket. Buy as many as you want! This year, as an added bonus, we are offering four special door prizes to any non-winning ticket, but you must be present to win the door prizes. Door prizes will be pulled immediately after the end of the Bash.
The West Newton Center for Active Adults is a community center for active older Americans ages 50
and above. The center is open weekdays from 8:00AM to 3:30PM and is supported by Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging, The Nutrition Group, and community volunteers. Membership to the center is free. Lunch is served daily at noon. The cost of lunch is a $2 donation for those 60 years and above, or a $3.97 charge for those 59 years or below. Reservations for lunch must be made by Wednesday of the prior week.
