On Saturday, October 17th, CCSP hosted their 2nd Annual West Elizabeth Community Days.

Activities included toasting s'mores, playing baseball, climbing the rope ladder and picking a pumpkin to paint! The cookout included a buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salads and cookies and cake for dessert. West Elizabeth firefighters passed out water bottles that were labeled with fire safety rules. To fend off the chilly air, there was a hot chocolate bar that also offered hot apple cider and coffee. Live music filled the air while residents mingled with CCSP church members and reconnected with old friends.
The biggest impact of the afternoon was the visit by state representative Rick Saccone. He delivered a powerful speech on the deep-rooted meaning behind those four famous words: In God We Trust. Saccone has been a leader in the movement to emblazon those four words on the walls of schools across the state. Those words are an echoing reminder of the driving force behind our forefathers and should be remembered as such.
