Bethel Art Guild is winding down its 2015-2016 fiscal year with the last meeting and speaker on April 7.

At the Bethel Art Guild, we are getting ready for our spring and summer break! But don’t worry – we’ll be back before you know it with our beaches and seascapes, our summer paintings and drawings and even our ideas for paintings, all ready for our first meeting of the 2016 fiscal year.

We will meet six times: September, October, and December, then again in February, March, and April.

But before we get there, you don’t want to miss our last meeting for this year. That will be on April 7th at 12:30 p.m. with our guest speaker, Linda Baxendell. Linda has been etching glass and mirrors for over 30 years. During that time she has done custom work for builders, designers, individual homes and business owners. Her latest commissioned work was for the Ft. Cherry Golf Club.

Linda started as a teacher, and that career took her from Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania to Fairbanks Alaska. She also holds a certificate from the Pittsburgh School of Interior Design. While she was a stay-at-home mom, Linda took time to follow her love of art and developed her technique in glass etching. She has participated in several art shows and has won awards along the way. For those who frequent the School House Art Center, Linda may look familiar, as she was manager of the Heritage Box Gift Shop.

Please join us for this meeting, which is as always, the first Thursday of the month, at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave., Bethel Park.
