Residents of Carroll Township in attendance at the July 3 Board of Supervisors Meeting expressed concerns about property issues at their residences.
Driftwood Drive resident Ralph Compe addressed the Board about flooding issues at his house. According to Mr. Compe, a Rosewood Drive paving project that was completed about five years ago, has left his property sitting in six inches of water after heavy rainfalls. According to Mr. Compe, the paving project removed much of the curb, allowing water to jump the curb onto his property. Additionally, all of the rainwater flows on his side of the street due to the road design, he says. Compe said the flooding did not occur until the road was paved, and he asked the Board to install more catch basins to try to solve the issue.
The Board also heard complaints about a house located at the corner of Rt. 88 and Rt. 837, which is being neglected, according to neighbors. The property has overgrown weeds that are growing through the fence onto neighboring property and has wild animals living under a shed on the property. The supervisors stated that the owner has been issued a letter indicating the necessary compliance.
Resident Maya Patch also spoke at the meeting about high grass and animals at a rental property near her home.
