The Carroll Township Board of Supervisors held its monthly meeting November 8, with residents in attendance discussing issues with neighboring properties.

An elderly resident discussed an issue with running water along Route 88 near Roberts Auto that flows into his driveway and creates ice hazards. According to the resident, the stream of water will flow for up to three days following rainfalls. Chairman Thomas Rapp said the township will come look at the problem and contact PennDOT, if necessary.

Another resident, frequently in attendance at the meetings, discussed the continuing issue with animals and weeds on the property next to her home that currently houses sheds for sale. The resident has previously complained about skunks and other animals coming into her yard. The owner of the property with the sheds has been sent a letter about the violations, according to the supervisors.

Resident Maya Patch also addressed the Board about the lot of a recently demolished house near her home. The lot has an excavator that has been there for a year and brush that needs to be cleaned up, according to Mrs. Patch, who was assured that the excavator will be removed from the property by the owner.

In other business, the Board announced that the township will be receiving approximately $70,000 through a block grant awarded to the township every three years. The grant stipulates that the awardee use the funds to pave roads in low-income areas. The 2019 project will include the paving of Hoon Street and Haywood Street and the demolition of a house on Hoon Street.
