The last board of supervisors meeting held for the borough of South Park took place on March 9 at 7 p.m.

 

Edgewood Street
The house at 3607 Edgewood St. was torn down this past February, as it was a hazardous property.

One of the borough's most recent projects was to tear down the house at 3607 Edgewood St., which was deemed a hazard to the nearby residents in the summer of 2014. It was left uncertain as to when the house would be torn down, but in February of this year, Schaaf Excavating Contractors Inc. tore down the house. South Park bid on the price they would pay the contractors and agreed to pay them $9,000.

The 2015 restoration of various streets project will cost the borough $384,616.85, as recommended by the project engineer.The public nuisance hearing, in regards to 1797 Cedaridge Dr., that was originally scheduled to be held on March 9 at 6:45 p.m., will be moved to April 13 at 6:30 p.m., to see if said property will be declared a nuisance.The hearing for an amendment of ordinance governing oil and gas activities is rescheduled from March 9 at 6 p.m. to May 11 at 6:30 p.m.The action on occupancy load requirements, in regards to the restoration of South Park Middle School, has been decided. There can be 1,221 occupants in the school during the day and 1,303 occupants during evening hours.The action to schedule a conditional use hearing for the South Park Middle School restoration project has been decided to be on April 13, 2015, at 6:45 p.m.

There is also a new police officer in town, Officer Brian Jesionowski. The board approved several courses he will be taking to complete his training.
