Municipal News

Supervisor Earl Sadler reported at the August 26, 2015 regular meeting that the Fallowfield Township Road Department has been busy repairing roads and constructing cross drains.

With the heavy rains during June of this year, a lot of maintenance issues have occurred due to crumbling or debris-filled cross drains and a limited number of catch basins. An 80-inch cross drain was installed on Terrace Drive, a 48-inch cross drain was installed under Holly Drive, and cross drains and catch basins have been installed on Blythe. This was all done under the supervision of the designated Township Engineers from Chester Engineer. Additional cross drains and catch basins have been installed throughout the township.

Grass cutting and shouldering of the sides of roads have been completed throughout the township.

ElGrande will be paving Ernest Ave., Tower St., Evans Ave., and sections of Rodgers Lane. Youngblood will be Double Tar and Chipping Dairy Road and Redds Mill Road. Construction on the new intersections of Route 70 are underway and detours have been posted.

Washington County has put out the bid for the bridge on Butsko Road and is scheduled to be completed by spring.
