Nottingham Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Peter Marcoline says the process to revise and enact the new zoning ordinance has taken too long.

At their meeting on May 16, the supervisors took up discussion on word from the Planning Commission that they don’t expect the review and revisements to be complete until December.

Marcoline said that revising the zoning ordinance (No. 50) has been a priority of the board for years. He suggested, and the board agreed, that they could easily find ways to help the Planning Commission move the review process along more quickly to get the ordinance approved and in place.

In another matter related to the Planning Commission, Supervisor Doug King said that a representative from Range Resources recently attended their meeting to address a public complaint about drilling truck traffic in the township. King said that supervisors were not aware of this or any complaints on truck traffic. He said that perhaps it would be best from now on for any representatives of companies to address the supervisors first.

In other business, the board:

Approved the promotion of Public Works Department employee Kevin Madar to Skilled Light Duty Equipment Operator. The promotion was given as a result of Madar successfully completing the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) state driving program.
Acknowledged receipt of an invitation from State Sen. Camera Bartolotta to attend a meet-and-greet and public forum for the 46^th District. The event was held at the Union Township Municipal Building on May 19.
Acknowledged receipt of letter sent to Township Solicitor James Liekar regarding the case, Frank Sanns, Jr. v. Board of Assessment Appeals.
