The Tri Community South EMS was participating in EMS Week and Supervisor Sackinsky stated a presentation of proclamation, recognizing the event.

“A proclamation of the Township of South Park, Allegheny County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, designating May 15 through the 21, 2016, as Emergency Medical Service Week. Whereas, emergency medical service is a vital public service and access to quality emergency care, dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury and whereas, the members of the emergency medical services team are ready to provide the passionate, lifesaving care to those in need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” Sackinsky said.

Mr. Sackinsky continued by mentioning all who are a part of emergency medical services, such as medical technicians, fire fighters and nurses, and how they put in hours of specialized training as well as continued education to enhance their life-saving skills. He said it would only be right to recognize emergency medical service providers during EMS Week.

South Park Township was also recognized for winning the 34th Annual Road/Bridge Safety Improvement Program. They won out of 31 communities that entered the contest throughout the state. The award was for the work that had been done on McElheny Rd.

The Board continued with their regular meeting and handled business as usual.
