Area Veterans were well represented at the RESN Veterans Day program.

Ringgold Middle School
Ringgold Middle School honored area veterans with a breakfast reception. The RMS band lead by Mrs. Slavin played patriotic selections during the reception which was followed by a program in the school gymnasium where each branch of the military was recognized during the Armed Services Medley. Mr. Belamy was the emcee for the heartfelt program, which included the National Anthem sung by Mrs. C, poetry readings by Mr. Howell and Mrs. Brink, and beautiful patriotic songs and tunes from the RMS chorus lead by Mrs. Sandrock. The veterans and student body heard an encouraging and inspirational message from guest speaker, Mr. Eric McElvenny, retired U.S. Marine Corp. Infantry Officer, amputee, and current Iron Man Triathlete. All in attendance were impressed by the attentiveness and  respect shown by the student body.

Ringgold Elementary School North
Ringgold Elementary School North held its annual Veterans Day program in the afternoon in the school gymnasium. Seventy-five veterans and their guests were treated to a hot lunch buffet from the RESN PTA. Lunch was followed by a special program with the children in pre-k and head start through grade 4. The program included a veteran's processional lead by the Mon Valley Honor Guard, flag folding performed by the Boy/Girl Scouts, special songs and poems performed for our veterans by each grade level, and solos by Mrs. Lint and Miss Zukauckas. The program concluded with a heartfelt video tribute to our veterans from the students followed by the playing of Taps by Mr. Lee Hemmings.
