Elizabeth Forward Middle School celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Veteran's Day and the end of WWI at its 16th Annual Assembly on Friday November 9, 2018.

Guest speaker Lt. Sam Colton, USN Executive Officer Navy Operational Support Center, Pittsburgh, spoke on the significance of Veteran's Day.

Dr. Trish Martell, Principal, opened the program in welcoming students and guests. Veterans of Blaine Hill VFW Post 7632 and American Legion Post 553 posted colors and performed Remembrance Ceremonies and Magisterial District Judge Beth Scagline Mills, Esq. spoke on what her office offers to veterans and the community. Lt. Sam Colton, USN Executive Officer Navy Operational Support Center, Pittsburgh was the guest speaker.

Awards were presented to Patriot's Pen Essay winners Madison Alessio, 1st place; Charles Nigut, 2nd place; and Tyler Bane, 3rd place. The 7th and 8th grade Band, Orchestra, and Chorus performed patriotic selections. Taps was performed by Adrianne Maola with Logan Beedle on the snare drums. Following the ceremony, guests and veterans retired to the iCreate Studio for refreshments.
