A free introductory Western-style square dance will be held by the Happy Go Lucky Square Dance Club on Friday, September 12 from 8 to 10:30 p.m. After a brief lesson, everyone will be able to dance. Free refreshments will be served.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners presented a check for $33,000 to the PONY League World Series to support the World Series' efforts to attract tourists and increase the promotion of the event. The investment was made through the 2014 Washington County Tourism Grants Program.

These California Area High School senior students were awarded certificates for their athletic achievements this spring in track and field and baseball at the June 20 Mid Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame Banquet at the Willow Room in Rostraver Township.
