Library News

Monongahela Area Library announces November Events.

Story Time will now be offered at two times through November 18th. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Story time is designed for children ages 30 months to 5 years old. Ms. Becky reads to the children and then completes a craft with them.

Book Bites will meet on Thursday, October 15th at 1p.m. The book for November is “The Bean Trees” by Barbara Kingsolver.

A benefit Holiday Bash will be held at the Lock 4 Fire Hall, 540 Isabella Ave., N. Charleroi, to benefit Monongahela Area Library and John K. Tener Library on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Doors open at 4 p.m. Various cash prizes, gift cards, and electronic prizes will be available, as well as additional cash tips and raffles. Donation is $20 for a ticket (with two numbers). Dinner and beer free with ticket. Winners need not be present to win. Winners not present will be notified by phone if a completed stub has been turned in.

On November 14th at 11 a.m., Reanna Roberts, a memorial counselor for Mon Valley Memorial Park, will be at the Monongahela Area Library to go over the benefits of preplanning funeral arrangements. She will hand out copies of a personal planning guide, which is a very useful tool to begin getting your affairs in order to make it easier on your family when the time comes. She will answer questions, and if you are interested in making arrangements, you can set an appointment that day for her to meet with you to do so. Light refreshments will be provided.

On the evening of Friday, November 20th from 12 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 21st from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the Monongahela Area Library will host their annual Holiday Vendor Show. There will be raffle baskets, half the take, holiday music, and hot chocolate. Vendors interested in reserving a space, please call the library at 724-258-5409.
