Municipal News

The Monessen Council meeting held on Sept. 28, 2015 at 7 p.m. pertained to the voting on the sale of the buildings in Monessen, discussed at last month’s meeting. Tejas Gosai was in attendance to deliver a presentation, and there was some concern about proceeding with the building sale to Dr. Martin Dudas without a plan.

At 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, there were already over 100 people in line outside of the Elizabeth Township Municipal Building waiting to get their firearms licenses. Some people waited in line for up to 7 hours, and the line was literally wrapping around the building, but many residents say it was well worth it. Read more...

At a recent Elizabeth Township Council meeting, the Parks and Recreation Board announced the hire of 7 more employees to maintain the community center. They stated 5 just wasn't enough and they had 7 people show interest in the job, so they hired all of them. Read more...
