The students at Pleasant Hills Middle School (PHMS) organize a Thanksgiving Food Drive every year to benefit the West Elizabeth Food Bank.

PHMSfooddrive
Students at Pleasant Hills Middle School work the food drive.

Last year, they donated over 10,000 pounds of food to help the food bank assist local families at Thanksgiving and throughout the winter months. This year, the students surpassed their goal with almost 12,000 pounds of donated goods!

The PHMS Student Council led the way for the food drive and helped to organize two events to benefit the drive: the Staff vs. Student volleyball game and the annual grade-level Pancake Breakfasts during homeroom periods. Students were admitted to these events by bringing two cans of food to each event. The school continued to collect food until Thursday, November 8th and the food was delivered to the West Elizabeth food bank on Friday, November 9th in time for their Thanksgiving distribution.
